The 35-year-old centre back is a fan-favourite at Poole Town, he was one several players that moved west to Poole Town from AFC Totton in the summer of 2013. The defender’s main position is in central defence, but he can also play along the back four as he is just as comfortable going forward as he is in defence.
He has made almost 500 appearances for the Dolphins over a span extending ten years and has captained the side for the majority of that time.
He started his career at AFC Bournemouth, where he only managed to play one game in the league cup against Wigan Athletic. ‘Whisk’ has also played for Basingstoke Town, Bognor Regis and Farnborough Town took over as captain of the side during the 2013/14 season.
During his tenure with Poole, the most memorable moment in his career will likely be captaining the side to the Southern Premier League title in 2016 and finishing in a remarkable 5th place in the National League South the following season.
Whisken put pen to paper to extend his contract at Poole until the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
