Poole Town were held to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon against Evesham United, Shaq Gwengwe’s goal was not enough to secure the three points at Tatnam.
Joe Lea and Pat Suraci made two changes with Harry Lee and Henry Spalding making their way into the starting eleven.
The match got underway on a sunny afternoon in Dorset with both sides testing eachother out early on.
Selim Saied had the first effort of the game, his shot was parried in the path of Ik Hill who was also unable to convert.
Evesham had their first attempt on goal in the 38th minute, but Will Owens’ ball into the box was headed narrowly wide.
The referee’s whistle brought proceedings to a halt after 45 minutes with the score remaining goalless.
The second half got underway in similar fashion with Poole dominating the majority of chances but unable to find that decisive opener.
Ik Hill went down in the area, but the penalty appeals were waved away by the referee.
A double change on the hour mark for the Dolphins with Kris Campbell and Antonio Diaz making their way onto the field with 30 minutes to play.
The deadlock was finally broken as Shaq Gwengwe was brought down in the area leading to a penalty which was calmly finished by the number nine himself to give Poole the lead.
The visitors responded almost instantly with a great free kick fired past Adam Parkes by Andre Wright to make it 1-1 on the 72nd minute.
Both sides continued to search for a winner but this match up always seemed destined to end level with both sides taking a point on Saturday afternoon at Tatnam.
