Biography

Midfielder Antonio Diaz signed for the Dolphins from Gosport Borough where he spent the 2023/24 campaign, accumulating 33 appearances and scoring two goals. The midfielder is not the first in his family to play for Poole Town, his dad Tony was a prolific goal-scorer for the Dolphins in the 90’s.

The 24-year-old came through AFC Bournemouth’s academy and was part of a Cherries’ team that won the Youth Alliance Cup in 2017.

After spells at Weymouth, Dorchester and Wimborne Town, Diaz joined Salisbury in 2020 and made 77 appearances, scoring nine goals.

In December 2022, Antonio Diaz made the decision to join Bashley FC before joining Gosport Borough for the 2023/24 season.

Diaz has played a vital role during his short time at Poole so far, playing multiple different positions and performing admirably whenever featured emphasising his versatility and tireless effort displayed every time he steps foot on the pitch.
