Address:
Poole Town FC, BlackGold Stadium,
(Off) School Lane, Oakdale, Poole,
Dorset, BH15 3JR
Entrances – The Black Gold Stadium is situated next to Oakdale Junior School. There are two main turnstiles, one at the end of Well Lane for those walking down from Tatnam Road and those walking from the School Car Park, the other turnstile can be accessed through the wooded area at the junction of Tatnam Road and Stanley Green Road.
The Well Lane Entrance can be accessed from the Car Park* in School Lane as well as from Well Lane itself. When a large crowd is expected or where segregation is advised, there will also be a further turnstile open further along Stanley Green Road referred to as The Fleetsbridge Turnstile.
By Rail – Poole railway station is a short walk (10 mins) from the Black Gold Stadium.
If arriving from the London/Bournemouth direction, leave the station on Holes Bay side (you will see the water and the Travelodge hotel). Turn right out of the station and walk along to the first set of traffic lights. Bear right into Sterte Road. Follow Sterte Road past some shops on your left, and then over the railway bridge. The stadium is almost straight ahead, with the entrance to the turnstiles accessible just up Tatnam Road and through the wooded area.
If arriving from the West (Weymouth/Dorchester) you can either cross the footbridge and use the directions above or walk along Serpentine Road until you reach the three cornered ex-Barclays building. Turn left and walk around the building keeping it on your right until you reach a mini roundabout – this is on Wimborne Road. Turn left at the mini-roundabout and keep walking past the police station on your right – until you reach the Co-operative convenience shop which is on the corner of Tatnam Road. Turn left into Tatnam Road. Walk along Tatnam Road for about 3/4 of a mile until you see Well Lane on your right. Follow Well Lane and through the gate [ marked please keep clear for emergency vehicles ] turn left towards the club house, and the turnstiles are down on the right.
Driving – The best route to the BlackGold depends on the season. At the start of the season in August and September, traffic can be very heavy on Saturdays and Bank Holidays.
If approaching from the London/Southampton direction, during the holiday season it is probably best to approach Poole through Bournemouth. Leave the A31 just after Ringwood and take the A338 to Bournemouth. Outside of the holiday season, carry on along the A31. Sat Navs often send people through Ferndown but that way is always congested. Follow the A31 to Merley then follow the A341. Keep straight on as the A341 becomes the A349. Follow the A349 for a few miles to the Fleetsbridge roundabout and take the third exit onto Fleets Lane. Fleets Lane eventually becomes Stanley Green Road. Just opposite Elite Signs , turn left into Palmer Road then right at a small mini roundabout into School Lane and the car park.
If arriving from the West or South West, leave the A35 towards Poole Town centre at the Fire Station roundabout. Continue towards Poole and at the first rounabout with MacDonalds on your left, turn left onto Broadstone Way. Turn right at the first set of traffic lights into Willis Way. At the end of Willis Way, turn right onto Fleets Lane. Fleets Lane becomes Stanley Green Road. Just opposite Elite Signs , turn left into Palmer Road then at the mini roundabout, turn right into School Lane and the car park is straight ahead.
