Poole Town were left frustrated after being held to a 1-1 draw against Didcot Town despite dominating the ball and having a number of chances in the Emirates FA Cup First Round Qualifying.
New signing Henry Curtis made his first start for the Dolphins with Corey Jordan dropping to the bench.
Poole started the match as the brighter of the two sides and had a number of early chances to open the scoring.
The deadlock was finally broken after ten minutes after a great ball from Selim Saied found Ik Hill in space and he fired low into the corner to put Joe Lea and Pat Suraci’s side in the lead.
Against the run of play, it was Didcot who found the next goal in the game to draw it to level terms through Tyger Hall after some nice football from the Railwaymen.
Following the goal, it was the hosts who looked more likely to double their lead for a short amount of time before the Dolphins regained control of the ball for the remainder of the first half.
Charlie Davis’ free kick went close on the half hour mark but his effort was well saved by Leigh Bedwell in goal.
The half came to a close on level terms with Poole dominating the ball but unable to create any real clear cut chances.
The second 45 continued in similar fashion and despite glimpses from Hill, who was the best player on the pitch, Poole never really looked like having that clinical edge to put the game to bed.
Antonio Diaz went closest for Poole in the dying stages after some neat link up with Kris Campbell, but his effort was once again denied by the experienced Didcot goalkeeper.
