The Dolphins secured their fourth pre-season win of the campaign following a convincing 2-0 win away to Brockenhurst.
There were a few changes made from the 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth XI with Antonio Diaz, Tyrrell Sampson and Keelan O’Connell all coming in from the start.
The match got underway on Tuesday evening in the New Forest with neither side able to grab control of the game early on.
The first chance of the game was created by Ryan Campbell down the left hand side but he was unable to find anyone in the centre as it was well defended by a resolute Brockenhurst backline.
With the Dolphins on top and creating a number of chances through Shaq Gwengwe and Sampson, they looked destined to open the scoring but a few fantastic saves from the home side’s number one kept the scores level.
Diaz fired wide on the 37th minute after nicely set up by O’Connell in the attacking third.
Just before the interval, the Dolphins went close again, this time through Gwengwe and Henry Spalding but, despite the dominant pressure, Poole were unable to find anyone opener.
The second half got underway with a number of changes for the second half including Billy Lowes entering the fray.
The deadlock was finally broken on the 55th minute through Sampson who calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner to give the Dolphins the lead.
On the 60th minute, Selim Saied was introduced for the first time since returning to the club on a permanent this season.
For the final 30 minutes of the match, it was complete control for Poole who probably could have scored five or six on a different day.
In the dying moments of the match, Diaz was brought down in the area and the referee awarded a spot kick which Charlie Davis converted to double our lead and secure a 2-0 win on Tuesday evening against Brockenhurst.
Next up, we’re back at Tatnam this Saturday as we face Fareham Town with a 3pm kick off.
