The 2025/26 Southern League season is well underway, as we are back on the road to a place we travelled to rather frequently last season, Bracknell Town.
We face a Robins side who have had a slow start under Jordan Ive so far this season, losing away to Berkhamsted on the opening day and drawing 1-1 with another newly promoted side in Uxbridge, last Monday night.
Looking back on our start to the season, we started off with a hard fought 1-0 win at home to Hanwell, thanks to a smart goal from Harvey Slade. Tuesday night at Sholing was one to forget, with The Boatmen beating us 4-1 at the Mortgage Decisions Stadium. One positive to take was witnessing a first league goal for Tyrrell Sampson, his first goal back at Poole after he re-joined from AFC Stoneham.
Last season against The Robins, neither side were able to find their rhythm, with both games ending 0-0. We faced Bracknell away on the opening day last season, with them coming to Tatnam on a cold Saturday afternoon in January.
Bracknell Forward Seb Bowerman will be looking to continue his goalscoring form, after he scored a classy equalizer in Bracknell’s 1-1 draw with Uxbridge. Sam Magri, signed from now National League South side AFC Totton will also be one to keep an eye on as well as Robins’ number nine, Jordan Esprit.
So a trip to the SB Group Stadium awaits for The Dolphins, who will be followed brilliantly as always by our travelling contingent. Let’s hope for goals and a positive response from Tuesday night.
Live commentary will be provided on our X/Twitter account if anyone who isn’t able to make the game wants to follow along.
