Ashton joins the club having spent the second half of the season at Isthmian South-Central side Horndean from on loan The Robins. The striker scored the opener in Horndean’s defeat to Raynes Park Vale last Saturday.

The newest of Pat and Joe’s recruits started his career at Havant in 2015 and enjoyed his most impressive spell of his career in a three-year stint at Salisbury, making 60 appearances and scoring 14 goals.

The 26-year-old then made his way to Winchester City making 14 appearances and recording three goals. He signed for Bracknell in September 2024 and has scored three goals in 13 appearances for The Robins.

Joint-manager Pat Suraci said: “We’re really pleased to bring Sam to the club, we feel he will add quality to the forward areas and provide extra competition for places in those positions.”

He added: “Sam is a good finisher and someone who could potentially score some important goals for us until the end of the season and we’re looking forward to working with him”.

On his arrival to the club, Ashton said: “I’m buzzing to be on board, I’ve worked previously with Pat and Joe and it was a no-brainer once they showed interest.

The striker added: “I’m really excited to play for such a big club and look forward to making a big difference here.”

Ashton is in contention to face Gloucester City tomorrow at the BlackGold stadium.
