Poole Town travelled to Swindon Supermarine after facing Marine twice in the last week. Poole were triumphant as they progressed to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup. The Dolphins were looking to gain another win over Marine.

Steve Tully made one change to his side with Toby Holmes coming in for the suspended Tom Hewlett.

It was the home side who made a great start after David Simms-Burgess pounced on Josh Staunon’s poor back pass and dinked Plain to give the home side a 1-0 lead on 12 minutes.

Poole grew into the game and were awarded a penalty when Jake McCarthy was fouled. Toby Holmes stepped up but his penalty was saved comfortably by the Marine stopper.

Half Time and the Dolphins found themselves 1-0 down. The second half saw Poole completely fold as Swindon put four goals past the Dolphin Defence.

A far from ideal performance from the Dolphins with work to do as we look ahead to an FA Cup second qualifying round match against Taunton Town, at the BlackGold on Saturday 14th September.
