Poole Town delivered some derby delight in a sensational performance at the BlackGold Stadium, thumping rivals Weymouth 6-0 in front of a lively 1,434-strong crowd.
From the first whistle, the intent was clear from the Poole players as the game burst into life early, with Antonio Diaz putting Poole ahead in the 3rd minute. Diaz cleverly rounded the goalkeeper before smashing the ball off the post and into the net, sending the home fans into raptures early doors.
The momentum continued, and by the 23rd minute, Shaquille Gwengwe doubled the lead with a spectacular strike from the edge of the box after a slick combination with Diaz and Ik Hill. The early goals set the tone for what would become an unforgettable afternoon.
Poole maintained dominance throughout the first half, controlling possession, winning second balls, and creating multiple chances. Hill and Diaz were particularly impressive, continually probing Weymouth’s defence, while the visitors struggled to mount any meaningful response.

Substitutions added more firepower as Selim Saied and Ayo entered the fray. Saied smashed home a fine fifth goal in the 79th minute, and Ayo completed the rout in the 88th with a calm finish from a one-on-one opportunity.
Weymouth suffered further misery when Kieran Douglas was shown a second yellow card in the 85th minute, leaving the visitors to finish the game with ten men.
The Dolphins put on a show for their fans, demonstrating exactly why they are third in the table with 21 points, just behind Gloucester City and Walton & Hersham. The six goal demolition has also boosted their goal difference from +2 to +8, a potentially decisive factor as the season progresses.
