It is with huge regret that we have to announce the passing of Poole Town President Clive Robbins (pictured second from left) at the age of 76 after a long battle with cancer. Clive and his late father Arthur were central to the saving of the Club in 1991 when together with myself the three of us bought the assets of the previous limited company that had gone into liquidation under the stewardship of Derek Block and then committed to paying all the football related debts so that the Club could stay alive. Make no mistake Clive played a huge part in enabling Poole Town to survive and to become what it is today. He will always remain a huge “name” in the history of the Club and I fully expect the regard in which he will be held by Poole supporters to be reflected in the attendance at his funeral, details of which will be announced as soon as they are known.
