The points were shared between Poole Town and AFC Totton in a 2-2 draw at The Snows Stadium on Saturday.

Manager Steve Tully made three changes to his side from the 1-1 draw with Dorchester Town on Boxing Day.

Harry Thomas, Harvey Slade and Tom Hewlett all returned to the starting eleven with Jack Hoey back on the bench.

The match got underway with the hosts on top in the early stages.

The first chance of the game fell to ex-Poole Town player Tony Lee who hit the post within the first five minutes.

As the half progressed, the Dolphins grew into it and had their first chance through Ezio Touray who was unable to direct his header goalwards from close range.

Despite Totton’s early pressure, it was Poole who took the lead on the 25th minute after a fantastic counterattack led to Hewlett calmly slotting it past the goalkeeper to give the Dolphins infront.

After the opener, the hosts ramped up the intensity and eventually equalised just before the break as Lee fired past Ben Taylor in the Poole goal.

The sides went into the break with a goal apiece and all to play for in the second half.

Totton went close to taking the lead on the 65th minute through Lee from close range but he was denied by an unbelievably save from Taylor to keep the scores level.

Poole defended valiantly and eventually their efforts were rewarded as Rafa Ramos took the lead for the Dolphins after brilliant build up play from Luke Nippard and Touray on the 73rd minute.

The hosts fired back instantly and a great free kick from Lee found the bottom corner and drew the scores level once again.

The match came to a close at The Snows Stadium and both sides had to settle for a point.

A fantastic effort from every single Poole player out there and a thoroughly deserved point away from home.
